Gemma Arterton launched the Harrods Summer Sale

On Saturday 18th June, British actress Gemma Arterton opened the most anticipated retail event of the year: the Harrods Summer Sale. The former Bond Girl and Glamour Awards Film Actress of the Year for 2011, wowed crowds in a black and white sequin Balmain dress selected by Harrods BY APPOINTMENT personal shopping service.

Gemma was welcomed by Executive Director and Head of General Investment Portfolio of Qatar Holding and Harrods board member, Dr Kamel Maamria. Also invited to the event was ex-Chairman of Harrods Mohamed Al Fayed.

While busy shoppers embarked on their summer bargain hunt, Gemma posed for pictures in the store`s iconic Georgian Restaurant, fronting a catwalk lined by a host of mannequins dressed from head-to-toe in must-have sale items!

Speaking at the event, Gemma said: "Harrods has always been one of my favourite London stores, so I`m thrilled they invited me along to open the best sale in the world. So, ladies and gentleman, all I can say now is get ready, get steady - shop!"

Customers can enjoy later summer opening hours at Harrods from the first day of the Sale until the end of August.
